This shoe fits true to size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits true to size; so order your normal size.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All US sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

The lengths shown are the Insole lengths (the actual shoe length will be 2 or 3 mm longer).

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.
Keep pencil verical
Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

Great winter boots

I bought These ro replace my older fabric Arkens which proved to be too small for heavy winter socks. I sized up the Arken 2 and they are great. Here in Vermont USA it is very cold so I use toe warmers most days. I like the new leather like solid tops material and the tread pattern is way better grip than before. They are warm and waterproof. Excellent

Comfy, warm

I've worn them for more than 2 weeks. Very comfortable boots - nothing rubs or squeezes. They stay warm at around 0°C, I haven't had chance to test them in lower temperatures yet.

Arjen2 Another great winter boot from Freet

Another great boot from Freet. I’m not a big sock wearer but I like to get out in winter and do my garden jobs without cold feet or ankles and Arken2 is perfect for staying warm,waterproof and grippy enough not to worry about slippy underfoot issues. They feel bombproof when I’m pouring water accidentally over myself tidying up and the usual comfort while walking and straight away from the first wear no breaking in etc.
I have bought one 7for no sock wearing and an 8 for when I need socks so I’m covered for all situations. The higher back is enough for keeping warm but not too high that it rubs or interferes with walking. Perfect for me and they feel solid but still light and flexible enough. Having to wear workshop boots when I’m at college in a metal shop really emphasises how light but protective my freets are. I can’t wait to get them off after my engineering class but with Arken2 &freets in general I often forget I’m even wearing them. As a person with Asperger’s I’m quite fussy with clothes and especially shoe comfort, the zero drop helps me feel grounded and the comfort from the design of the shoe gives me lots of choices for shoes hiking,work, shopping, biking and I even swim outdoors with my old connect2’s.
There’s definitely freets for every occasion and foot altho a steel capped version could really help me out in my engineering class….the only non freet shoe I have bought for the last decade!

Love them, but......

Love them, but sizing is tight. Other shoes I use are euro 44; arkens aretight on me, heel to toe, but I love the width. I should've returned them! Hey-ho, I'll know next time. We'll done!
