This shoe fits true to size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits true to size; so order your normal size.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All US sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

The lengths shown are the Insole lengths (the actual shoe length will be 2 or 3 mm longer).

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.

Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

Best shoes I have ever owned

Every single time I put these on I think they are the best shoes I've ever owned. I bought them in August and wore them a bunch. Then in September I traveled to Europe for 3 weeks and walked many miles every day in the cities. I also hiked on a rocky trail one day. They were amazing day after day. They are just so comfortable! And they stayed clean after all that wear in Europe.

Box came pretty damaged and scotch taped on the ends. Perhaps a return item that was not fully inspected?
One pair of replace laces were frayed.
The souls are extremely sensitive to certain types of flooring. I was at Cowshed Burger In Scarborough and went to the toilet. When the flooring changed, I guess into a different type of laminate, it was as though I was walking on ice. I literally shuffled my way in and out of the area.
The good, they are comfortable, easy on off.
BUT…Had I paid full price for them, I would have returned them due to the slick issue.
I would ask, as a matter of quality control, that the return items team look more carefully at everything, to include the condition of the box.

Nice looking shoes, well made, comfortable

Overall I'm really happy with the shoes - they're comfortable and look great, and were at a good price (around £50 on sale). Outer soles are sturdy and stitched into the fabric of the shoe (nice to see). I found my pair true-to-size - I'm usually an EU 43, and my pair of 43s fit like a glove.

Overall I would buy another pair, and am eager to explore other Freet shoes due to my good experience.

I have a few small niggles which might be worth considering if you're thinking of getting a pair:

1) "Barefoot" - the Keld 2s have a wide toe box and are zero drop, but the soles are pretty thick. This means you don't get much floor feel, which can be important for some people.
2) Tread Grip - grip on the tread is disappointing on some surfaces. For something craggy and uneven, you'd be fine, but a wet tiled floor? Very slippery! As a fully able adult, I've found it very easy to slide around and lose balance on wet indoor surfaces.

Was expecting the sole to be thinner

Was expecting the sole to be thinner, but it's an amazing shoe. Comfortable and I like the looks of it. The part of the shoe that holds the laces looks kind of thin and is only made out of fabric, so I don't know about it's durability.
